|Mrs. Lorena West Gray was born on September 15, 1921, in Sale City, Georgia, the daughter of Clarence and Pearlie Jane Gregory West. She was preceded in death by her husband, E. Marvin Gray, Sr., her sister, Patsy West (John) Bowen and her brother James Norwood West. |
Mrs. Gray was a member of the Monroe First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a member of the Katie Caldwell UMW Circle. She and her husband were instrumental in organizing the XYZ Club for senior members at the church. She served as a volunteer at Walton County Hospital. She and her husband loved to go camping with their friends where they were members of Unicoi Springs RV Resort in Helen, Georgia. They traveled all over the United States with their camping friends.
Following Marvin Sr.'s death in 2001 she continued to live at her home on Pine Crest Drive in Monroe, but moved later to Great Oaks Assisted Living Facility where she resided for the last 10 years.
She is survived by her three children, Marvin Gray, Jr., Russell (Marlene) Gray and Kaye Gray (Bill) Pardue. Grandchildren Frank (Maria) Gray, Greg Gray (Jonathan Chapman), Joseph Pardue and John Pardue. Great-grandchildren Jamie Gray, Cassie Gray, Keely Gray and Kawon Bryant. Sister-in-law, Jenlee McQuaig West and several nieces and nephews.
