Obituary
Camille Rycroft Redfern Lowery entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 in Marietta, Georgia. She was born October 16, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia, to Clarence Elisha Redfern and Phyllis Camille Rycroft. She is survived by husband COL Clifford Carmichael Lowery; son Henry Stelljes III, grandchildren Henry Allen Stelljes and Natalie Kate Stelljes; daughter Lara Suzanne Stelljes; and sister Mary Robin Redfearn Towns.
She attended Druid Hills Schools, grades one through twelve. She earned her BA from the University of Georgia and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity. She was an active member of Johns Creek Baptist Church, Simpson Community Sunday School class, and also attended Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
Camille was retired from a career specialty advertising sales. She was an avid tennis player and enjoyed bridge. She loved travel, most recently returning to Scotland.
Camille was a volunteer for charitable organizations, including Rabun Gap Junior Guild. She was a member of The National Gavel Society and Founders Fellowship and was currently serving as National President of National Society Southern Dames of America. She was Co-founder and Deputy Postmaster General of the National Society Descendants of Early Postmasters 1607-1900. Camille served as President of The Colonial Dames of America, Georgia Piedmont Chapter; State President and Organizing Secretary General, National Society Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century; and State President, Southern Dames of America. She had served as State Treasurer for Georgia State Society Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a member of Cherokee Chapter. Camille held membership and offices in United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughters of Founders & Patriots, US Daughters of 1812, Dames of the Court of Honor, Dutch Colonial Society, Presidential Families of America, Descendants of the Monarchs of Rheims, Order of the House of Wessex, Magna Charta Dames, Georgia Salzburger Society, The Huguenot Society of South Carolina, Descendants of Fossers 1609-1860, Daughters of Colonial Wars, Daughters of Indian Wars, Sons & Daughters of the Pilgrims, Descendants of Antebellum Planters, Sons & Daughters of Colonial & Antebellum Bench and Bar, Order of the Southern Cross, and the Order of Steel Magnolias. Camille lived every day of her life abundantly, with faith, love, service to others, hope, and optimism.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, with Interment at 11:00 am, Resthaven Cemetery, 200 N. Madison Avenue, Monroe, GA.
Visitation, 2:00 - 3:00 pm, and Memorial Service, 3:00 pm, will be held at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 3125 Sewell Mill Road, Marietta, GA on Tuesday, December 11, 2018
