|William Grant Lemonds, age 75 of Covington, passed away on June 21, 2022. Grant was born in Walton County on January 31, 1947 to the late Marion Grace Jones and the late Albert Leon Lemonds. Mr. Lemonds was preceded in death by his brother, Kent Lemonds; sister, Joy Anglin.|
Surviving members of the family are, his loving wife of 53 years, Marsha Schell Lemonds; daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Keith McIntyre, Tina and Doug Coltharp, Tracy and Regan Vater; son and daughter-in-law, Wes and Stefanie Lemonds; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Brenda Lemonds, Danny and Beth Lemonds; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan and Cris Criscolo, Stacey and Ray Murphy; 20 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lemonds enjoyed hunting, fishing, The Atlanta Braves, The Georgia Bulldogs, music, and watching Gunsmoke. He loved to get together with his family and spent a great deal of time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Lemonds hung drywall most of his life with his brother and several family members and friends. Later in life, he managed Henry's Oil Change Shop in Covington where he made some lifelong friends. He was well known for the funny stories he told. His mama always said "he's the funniest person". He loved anything that involved the outdoors and loved eating any kind of wild game. He would always say if the hunters in our family didn't kill a deer after seeing some he would ask "Did you leave your bullet's in your truck?".
His family was his world and we've always been told people envied our family's closeness and love. Daddy was the backbone of our big loving family and the love he has instilled in all of us will guide us until we meet him again.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 24th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Meadows Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Thompson officiating. Interment will follow to the New Covington Cemetery in Covington, GA.
