| Peter Javier Gomez, Sr., 73 years of age, of Lawrenceville, Georgia passed away|
on June 28, 2022. Mr. Gomez was born in Bogota, Columbia on July 2, 1948 to the late Eduardo Gomez and the late Judith Mejia.
Surviving members of the family are, son, Pedro "Pete" Javier Gomez, Jr.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nhorma Rodriguez and Eduardo Wiegmann, Terri and Ron Adamany, Patty Gomez; brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman and Ellie Gomez, David and Kathy Gomez; grandchildren, Courtney Ray, Katie Kyer, Brianna Russell, Stephanie Gomez, Dylan Gomez, Dustin Gomez, Jordan Gomez.
Pedro was always a loving man. In his early childhood, Pedro came to the United States from Bogota Colombia and lived with his Aunt in Pensacola Florida while the rest of his family slowly came thereafter. He was always an active child with no bounds. He loved his cars, he loved his community, and he loved his family. He did everything life had to offer which included surfing, tennis, working on cars, going out with friends, partying by the beach, and being in the sun. Pedro also attended George Mason University and earned a Bachelors in Science. Through this education he earned a position at Fairfax Hospital as a cardiopulmonary technician.
Later in life, Pedro became a loving father of one son which he named, Pedro Javier Gomez Jr. His son had many children which became Pedro's grandchildren. Pedro always loved his family and took very good care of his grandchildren. He helped raise these amazing grand children for over 25 years, teaching the wonderful values of life and the catholic faith, make sure they always had what they needed, and ensuring that they went to school and sought further education.
Pedro was always there for his family and others. He did whatever necessary to make sure that the people he loved and what they needed. He will be deeply missed and deeply loved forever and always.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 3:00 PM at St. Anna's Catholic Church with Father Dan Toof officiating. Interment will follow to Hill Haven Memory Gardens.
