OBITUARY

Patricia Ellyn Parker Thomas was born on November 13, 1943 in Oceanside, California. She entered into rest on January 13, 2025. She was 81 years old. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Parker; brother, Bim Parker; husband (1963-1983) Swan Whatley; and sons, Stewart Whatley and Fred Whatley.

Pat is survived by her loving husband, Timmy Thomas; children, Zane Whatley (Tracie), Ellyn Whatley (Art), Jeff “Dolo” Whatley (Ginger), Kim Layfield, and Kerry Matteson; grandchildren; Sharmin, Stewart, Stevie Joe, Dena, Clint, Adam, Robert, Kelsey, Kaylee, Tyler, Miriah, Fallon, Hope, Megan, Reese, Skyla, Waylon; a slew of great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Dot Shepherd (Jerry), Tom Parker (Linda), Nancy Stowe (Larry), Bo Parker (JoAnn), Donna Parker, Beth Ward (Gordon); and a ton of nieces and nephews.

Pat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the oldest of seven siblings. She loved getting away, especially to Edisto Beach and the mountain home she shared with her family. Pat was a hard worker all her life. She was a nurse for 30-plus years and retired as an administrator from Highland Hills where she received an outstanding grade from state inspections for her leadership skills.  She loved to take care of people and her family felt that by her hugs, her laugh, and her homemade fudge.  

The viewing will be held at Meadows Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.  The funeral will take place at the Monroe Church of Christ on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Graveside will follow at Queen Cemetery.
