OBITUARY
Joseph Paul Bell, age 87, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025. He was born on April 26, 1937, in Cairo, Georgia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bell. Joseph was a man of love, kindness, and generosity who lived a life deeply rooted in faith and family.
A proud veteran, Joseph served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He went on to dedicate 30 years to the General Services Administration (GSA), where he retired as a GSA-15. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards, including special recognition from United States Presidents. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Joseph earned various certifications and special degrees that reflected his lifelong commitment to learning and excellence.
Joseph was an avid runner who completed many Peachtree Road Races and marathons. He also enjoyed golfing with friends and cherished time spent with his loved ones. His devotion to God and his faith were cornerstones of his life.
Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Betty Jean Bell; his daughters, Marsha Rogers (husband Stephen) and Kimberly Word (husband David); five grandchildren, Ashley Smith (husband Tyler), Brittany Giese (late husband Ryan), Ryan Rogers (wife Marissa), Brian Allum (wife Jade), and David Johnson (wife Samantha); and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sibling Bobbie Pelt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bell, and siblings Mary Miller, Ann Miller, Charlie Bell, and David Bell.
A funeral service will be held at Meadows Funeral Home on Highway 11 in Monroe, Georgia. A viewing will take place at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2:00 p.m. Joseph will be laid to rest at Hill Haven Memorial Cemetery after the chapel ceremony.

Joseph Paul Bell will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his warmth, faith, and unwavering dedication to his family and country.
