OBITUARY

In Loving Memory of Tommy Kuykendall...

Thomas David Kuykendall, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away on July 18, 2025. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 15, 1949, to the late Ruby Mathis Kuykendall and the late Benjamin Harrison Kuykendall.

Preceding him in death are his parents; sisters, Margie Hooper, Tresia Gibson, and Baby Girl Kuykendall; brother, Wayne Gibson.

Surviving Tommy is his loving wife, Angela Hughes Kuykendall; daughters, Dana Lester and Holli Kuykendall; sons, Eric Schwebel and Brian Schwebel (Jennifer); grandchildren, Taylor Morris (Cody), Ruby Kuykendall, Austin Schwebel (Julianne), Tanner Schwebel (Mallory), Brice Schwebel (Miranda), Sydney Brooks (Pacey), Ash Schwebel, and Elaina Schwebel; great grandchildren, Emmett, Rhett, Sawyer, Katigray, Sonny, Oliver, and Delilah; sisters, Judy Head, Sheila Phillips (Johnathon), Brenda Black, Betty Sue Turner, Pam Lindsey, Janice Martin, and Patsy Chambers; brothers, Emory Kuykendall, Alvin Gibson, and Bill Gibson; many beloved nieces and nephews.

Tommy, lovingly known as “Mouse,” will be remembered as a devoted husband, beloved family man, and loyal friend. He was raised in Young Harris, Georgia, served in the United States Coast Guard for 4 years, and went on to lead a successful career with the United States Postal Service, retiring after 30 years, as Post Master of Auburn, Georgia. He will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.

A visitation will be held on July 22, 2025, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, at Meadows Funeral Home.  A funeral service will follow in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home at 2:00pm. Interment will take place immediately after the funeral service at Hill Haven Memory Gardens.
