OBITUARY

Sylvia Nell Hester Smith, age 92 of Monroe, passed away on August 16, 2025.  She was born in Walton County on July 26, 1933 to the late Clarence Augustus Hester and the late Ruby Nell Hester.  She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Glenn Brown Smith; her granddaughter, the late Erin Smith.

Surviving are sons and daughters in law, David and Karen Smith, Linn Smith, Mark and Terri Smith; grandchildren, Melissa and Rob Edgerton, Courtney and Jake Lord, Benjamin Smith, Leah and Matt Robinson, Angela and Randy Dover, Mark and Caitlin Smith, Jr., Arica and Dustin Unser; great grandchildren, Ava Edgerton, Gwen Edgerton, Myles Edgerton, Neela Cox, Jack Lord, Cora Lord, Cannon Lord, Bryson Dover, Savannah Dover, Ella Dover, Bannon Smith, Redding Smith, Rowen Unser, Rylee Unser, Beck Robinson, and Gemma Robinson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 23rd at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Carrol and the Rev. Greg Butler officiating.  Visitation will be held on Friday August 22nd at Meadows Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Interment will follow at Union Chapel Church Cemetery.  Meadows Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
