OBITUARY

William “Bay” Smith, age 84 of Monroe, passed away on September 1, 2025.  Bay was born in Hartsville, SC on August 10, 1941 to the late Irene Harrell Smith and the late Boyd Rivers Smith. He was proceeded in death by his three brothers, M C Smith, Charlie Smith, and Sam Smith.

Surviving members of the family are his loving wife of 25 years, Pearl (Gosnell) Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Bessie and Ralph Peppers; sister-in-law, Shirley (Peppers) Smith; nieces, Cathy Kelly, Lynn Durden, Sue Smith, Glenda Culpepper, Janice Langley, Pat Pike, Sherry Stapp; nephews, Greg Smith and Jeff Smith; many great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Meadows Funeral Home on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Friday, September 5, 2025, from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Sorrells officiating.  Interment will follow at Hill Haven Memory Gardens and Mausoleum.
