OBITUARY
John Franklin "Johnny" Howard, aged 67, of Social Circle, GA passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 after losing his battle to cancer. He was born in Greensboro, GA, on January 9, 1958, to the late Dan Milton Howard and Nancy Patricia Hawk.
Preceding Johnny in death are his parents; granddaughter, Anniston Barrett; sister, Judy Jones.
Johnny leaves behind his loving wife Joy Knight Howard; daughters, Jennifer McCranie (Daniel), Jan Barrett (Shane), and Julie Uburtis (Derek), 8 grandchildren; Sister, Janice Johnson (Hank), George Howard (Susan); nieces and nephews.
Johnny was a hardworking man with a big heart and a self-taught mechanic when it came to cars. He could always be found under the hood, fixing what was broken and sharing his knowledge to help anyone in need, never expecting anything in return. He worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his daughters and grandchildren, who were his greatest pride and joy. Known for saying, "I can show you better than I can tell you," Johnny lived those words every day through his actions and the way he cared for others.
In quieter moments, he enjoyed sitting out in the barn listening to music or relaxing inside watching his favorite westerns. He lived a good and full life, was deeply loved by his family and friends, and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Johnny Howard.
