OBITUARY
Julian Brannon Hayes passed away on September 16, 2025, at Piedmont Hospital, Athens, Georgia. His daughter, her husband, and grandsons were by his side as he fell asleep and walked into the arms of our loving Savior.
He was born in Tampa, Florida and has been a resident of Monroe, Georgia for 27 years.
He is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 28 years, Sharon Lynn Hayes; his mother Laura Fannie Taylor and father Archie Hayes; brothers Charles, Clifford, Curtis, and Jessie; his sisters Myrtle, Bessie, and Geneva; his mother-in-law Shirley Flek, brother-in-law David St. John, his son-in-law Greg Donnelly, and grandson Cory Mortzfield. He is the last of 8 children to pass away.
He is survived by his son Jay (Jozina) Hayes, daughters Nancy-Ann (Steve) Merka, Laura Hayes (Jeff), and Kasandra (Jason) Shoemaker; his son Robert Fee Jr.; his daughters Karey (Keith) Gruden, Michelle Donnelly, and Heather (Scott) Mortzfield; grandchildren Tim (Caitlin) Talford, Jarod (Megan) Hoyer, Aaron Hayes, Kyle Hunter, Brianne Hunter, Samantha Bathurst, Courtney Bathurst, Derek LeCoumpte, Nicholas (Lauren) Wallace, Kyle Gruden, Trevor (Sara) Gruden, Ashley Fee, Jeremy (Halle) Pellar, Aschelle Pellar, Cody Mortzfield, and 18 great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
Julian was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a 55 year Mason having been raised in Wayne Masonic Lodge No. 112 of Westland, Michigan and was member of Generous Warren Lodge No. 20, of Monroe, Georgia. Julian was also a member of several impendent bodies of Masonry as well, along with being a member of the Order of Eastern Star, State of Georgia, Madison Chapter No. 335.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025. The family will be receiving guests at 10:00 AM and the service will start at 10:30 AM at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 110 Mill Street, Monroe, Georgia 30655.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests a donation to St. Stephen UMC or the Masonic Home of Georgia (1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, Georgia 31211) in the memory of Julian Hayes.
