Ronald Edward Pieper, Sr.
OBITUARY
Ronald Edward "Ke Ali'i Heleloa Kalani" Pieper, Sr., lovingly known as Scooby, passed away on
Wednesday, October 15, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Born on November 24, 1941,
at The Queen's Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the beloved son of the late Beatrice Ferry
Pieper and the lateEdward Heleloa Pieper.
Ron grew up in San Leandro, California, where he cherished a happy childhood filled with love
and laughter. He often shared stories about his parents and the memories that shaped his life.
After high school, Ron proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War,
demonstrating the courage and dedication that defined him throughout his life.
Following his military service, Ron devoted himself to his family, becoming a loving husband and
father. He later moved to Georgia, where he found success as a real estate agent with ERA and
as a traveling salesman in the aviation industry. But his heart was always full of adventure and
fun, and even in retirement, he never slowed down.
Ron became known as "Scooby" to the children and staff at Gwinnett County Schools, where he
worked as an activity driver, spreading joy wherever he went. In full retirement, he pursued his
passions with energy and enthusiasm—waterskiing, snow skiing, golfing, traveling, riding
motorcycles, yard work, music, cheering for the San Francisco 49ers, and diving for golf balls
from his jet ski were all part of his playful spirit. He also proudly served as President of the
Greater Gwinnett Motorcycle Club, forming friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Ron's life was marked by love, laughter, and connection. He is survived by the mother of his
children, Donna Pieper; his sons, Ronald Pieper, Jr. (Jessica) and Luke Pieper (Destiny);
grandchildren, Averi, Trenton, Alexis, Colt, Willow, Jeremy, Alyssa, and Landon; sisters, Laurette
Masingale (Jerry) and Yvonne Dodaro (Jose); and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, extended
family, and friends who were blessed to know him.
Though he will be deeply missed, Ron's spirit, humor, and love for life will remain in the hearts of
all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
