Judy Mae Blackwell Thurmond, aged 69, of Newborn, Georgia, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025. She was born in Jasper, Georgia to the late Edna Mae Carver and the late J.B. Blackwell.

   Preceding Judy in death is her son, Thomas Benjamin Thurmond; daughter, Connie Diane Duncan; her parents; brother, Terry Blackwell; sister, Brentsie Walton.

   Judy leaves behind her loving husband of 48 years, Thomas “Mike” Thurmond; son, Travis Thurmond (Lynn); daughters, Kathy Bradley (Kason), Nicky Cook (Adam); 9 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; siblings, Gary Blackwell (Linda), Bobby Blackwell (Wendy), Jamey Blackwell (Amanda), Jody Blackwell, Eric Blackwell.

   A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, at Meadows Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Interment will take place, after the funeral service, at Hill Haven Memory Gardens.
