OBITUARY
William (Bill) Thomas Peters passed away on November 24, 2025, after a bicycle accident, surrounded by those who loved him. Bill was born on January 6, 1965, in Fort Wayne, IN. He grew up as the youngest of four children. Bill loved the outdoors. Being in the woods, hunting, or setting off on a long ride on his bicycle (often over 100 miles in a day) were some of his favorite things. After graduating from high school in 1983 Bill joined the US Army. He served as a helicopter mechanic spending part of that time in Germany. Upon leaving the military Bill attended Purdue University and earned a degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
In 1992 he met Kathy Korn and on August 28, 1993, they were married. Together they raised four wonderful children. Bill found great joy in his children – teaching them to hunt, coaching them in shooting sports, biking or hiking with them, or just spending time together as a family. Later, when the grandchildren came along, his joy was multiplied. Taking them out on bike rides, reading stories, and hugging them good night were some of his very favorite things.
Bill will be missed for his big smile and cheerful wave, his calm and steadying presence, his deep faith, and his limitless love for his family. We have lost a good one!
Bill is survived by his sister, Rhonda Wagner (husband Tom), his brother, Gary Peters; his widow, Kathy Peters; his four children, Hannah Peters, Carleigh Peters, Daniel Peters, and Lucinda Peters; and his three grandchildren, Garrett Simpson, Adalynn Simpson, and Ryder Peters.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Peters, mother, Gladys (Louise) Peters, and his brother, Carl Peters.
