OBITUARY

Shirley Allen Hammond, 87 years of age, of Monroe, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born in Alpharetta, Georgia, on October 21, 1938, to the late W.T. Allen and the late Mardell Barnett Allen.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Hammond; son, Jon Hammond; brothers, Roger Allen, Tommy Allen, and Gary Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Novene and Ray Landers.

Surviving family members of Shirley are, daughters, Julie Wallo (Bill), Amylee Hammond, grandchildren, Jon Dial (Morgan), Sam Dire, Ellie Wallo; great granddaughter, Austin Dial; multiple nieces and nephews, Doug Harper, Kirk Hammond, Carter Landers, Nancy Miller, Lori West, Tami Thomas, Tonya Peels, Michelle Carter, Alice Lockwood; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Judy and Cecil Hammond, and many friends who loved her dearly.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, on Friday, December 26, 2025 at Meadows Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow, at 1:00 pm, in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Peavy officiating.   Interment will take place at Westlawn Cemetery.
