Nelle Walker Roberts, 93 years old, died on December 27, 2025. Mrs. Roberts was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia to Marcus and Kathleen Tomberlin Walker. She was a 1950 graduate of Fitzgerald High School in Fitzgerald, Georgia and graduated from South Georgia College in 1952. While in college in 1951, she met her husband, Arnold Roberts, and they were married in 1952. At the time they met, Arnold was stationed in the Air Force at Moody Air Force Base serving during the Korean War. After his discharge in 1953, they moved to his hometown of Montesano, Washington where the couple lived for the next two years.

They were charter members of the First Baptist Church of Montesano where she taught a Children’s Bible Class. They moved to Atlanta in 1955, and made their home there for the next 40 years. She and Arnold were charter members of Briarlake Baptist Church located near their new home where she again taught Children’s Bible Classes each week. Early in their marriage, she worked in the banking industry, but chose to stay home with her own two children when they were born. She provided a loving and nurturing home for the family as they together raised the children in that community.

When the children started college, she and Arnold started a new company, American Boilerhouse, where they both worked until their retirement. Upon retirement, they moved to Monroe, Georgia where they built a new home. They spent many happy years in their new home enjoying the countryside and their children and grandchildren. They also were very active in both the Grace Baptist and Bible Baptist Churches during their time in Monroe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arnold Roberts and sister Verna Lovgren.
