Lucille Rakestraw Edwards, aged 88, of Monroe, GA, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. She was born in Walton County, Georgia, on September 25, 1937, to the late Bessie Dell Morris and the late Phillip Rakestraw.

Preceding her in death is her loving husband of 35 years, Tommy Lee Edwards, her parents, and 6 of her siblings.

Lucille leaves behind her daughter, Crystal Graves (Shawn A. Graves, Sr.); grandchildren, Shawn A. Graves, Jr., Danai Graves; great grandchild, Anthoney Deshawn Graves; siblings, Bessie R. Smith, Myrtle R. Ivey, Thomas Rakestraw (Doris); a host of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A viewing will be held at Meadows Funeral Home, on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 1:00pm to 8:00pm; family will receive visitors from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Appalachee Shoals Missionary Baptist Church, on Tuesday January 6, 2026, at 12:00pm, with Rev. Thomas Shannon officiating. Interment will take place at Hill Haven Memory Gardens immediately after the funeral service.
