Message: I first met Chris when I was 10 years old and he came to work for my father. Itâ??s 1969, Monroe Drive-In. Chris locked me out of the box office and wouldnâ??t let me in. He laughed as I went crying to my daddy. It was the first of about 1000 times Charles Whitley declared â??Rogers..., youâ??re fired.â?? Chris laughed at that, too, because he never stayed fired at all. In fact, Chris became more than an employee, he became a member of our family, going to the beach with us, out to supper in Athens, and hanging out at the house. He was a like a brother to me throughout my teens. I have many fond memories of teenage escapades with Chris and our gang, spending much of our time over at Winifredâ??s on Pine Circle. Teresa, Iâ??m sure you remember how close he was to our family and how often we pulled up in front of Memawâ??s house. We could always count on fun and laughter when Chris was around! Iâ??ve never known another quite like him. One in a million and a prince of a guy.

Message: So sorry to hear about Chris. I remember him from the mill village. Praying and Believing
Message: Sorry for your loss.
Name: Chris Sherlock
Message: I have not seen or heard from Chris since the days when he used to drive me back and forth between UGA and my home (I'm a paraplegic and don't drive), My memory of Chris from those days are that he was a happy, talkative guy who was always out for the underdog.

I unfortunately lost touch with Chris after that and had no idea he had been sick. Of all the people I know, Chris was the least deserving of having a chronic illness and I'm very sorry he had to go through that. My prayers are with Chris and his family.
