OBITUARY
Carolyn Louise Dalton Coker, age 79, of Jersey, passed away on January 22, 2026. She was born in Walton County, Georgia, on April 19, 1946, to the late Charlie Thomas Dalton and the late Ruby Ernestine Wood Dalton. Carolyn was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, the late Martha Mathis Coker.
Carolyn was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother who built her life around family, hard work, and community. She shared 59 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Cliff Coker, and passed away just one day after celebrating their anniversary—a testament to a lifetime of love, commitment, and partnership.
Raised among eleven brothers and sisters, she learned early the importance of caring for others and carried that sense of responsibility and compassion with her throughout her life. She remained a steady, loving presence for her siblings and extended family, always looking out for those she loved.
A longtime resident of Jersey, Georgia, Carolyn was proud of her small town and deeply connected to the people who called it home. She believed in letting others be exactly who they were and gave her family the freedom to grow, to find their own paths, and to live life on their own terms—always knowing they had her support. Her love was steady, honest, and unwavering.
A hardworking woman throughout her life, Carolyn faced every challenge with determination and resilience. She found joy in simple pleasures, especially spending time with her loved ones and enjoying her favorite pastime—playing bingo. Her wit, laughter, and familiar presence brought comfort to those around her and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are her beloved husband, Cliff Coker; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer Coker Evans (James Christopher Evans) and Stephaine Paige Coker; son, John Michael Coker; sisters and brother-in-law, Marie Wilkerson (Larry Wilkerson) and Jane Robinson; brother, Thomas Dalton (Elaine Bailey Dalton); grandchildren, Jessica Marie Tate, Lindsay Brooke Coker, Paige Nicole Dean, and Josephine Claire Evans; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Harper, Hadley, Cooper, Kandence, Landon, and Carson.
