Mary Charlene David Brown, age 91, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026. She was born in Monroe, Georgia, on December 18, 1934, to the late Gertrude Saxon and the late Willie Guy David.

Those preceding Charlene in death include her loving husband, Herman Wallace Brown, Sr.; her parents; her siblings, Harold David, Runette Ivey, Laverne Hood, Guynell Malcom, Larry David. 

Charlene, also lovingly known as Granny leaves behind her son, Herman W. Brown, Jr. (Deborah S.); daughters, Sherry Brown Decker (Terry Allen), Elizabeth Brown Oaks (Jeffery Scott); grandchildren, Kasey Decker, Mason Decker, Maria B. Foster (Cody), Georgia B. Cordell (Kenneth), Herman W. Brown III (Gabby), Ashlee Oaks Moody (Rhett), Alex Oaks, Shelby Oaks; great grandchildren, Sadie Foster, Brooks Foster, Allen Cordell, Maggie Cordell, Sarah Cordell; sisters, Shelby Hawkins, Patricia Malcom (Harry); and a  host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Charlene will be remembered for her lifelong devotion to her family, her unwavering faith in Christ, and her amazing buttermilk biscuits. She deeply loved her siblings and cherished the lifelong bond they shared. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and love that will be treasured for generations. 

A visitation will be held from 11:00am to 2:00pm, on Monday May 4, 2026, at Harmony Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow, at 2:00pm, with Rev. Billy Storms officiating.  Interment will take place at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
