OBITUARY

Russell Richey, age 73 of Monroe, passed away on May 28, 2026 surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. Russell was born in Franklin, North Carolina on December 12, 1952 to the late Eldie Cowart. 

Surviving members of Mr. Richey’s family are his loving wife, Deanna Richey; daughter and son-in-law, April and J.T. Little; sister, Glendia Cowart; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Diane Richey; grandchildren, Ethan, Phoenix, Levi, Hayes, and Palmer. 

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at 3:00 pm in Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with the Rev. Gloria Farmer officiating.
