OBITUARY

James Hampton Howland, age 63, passed away on June 24, 2026, with his family by his side. Lovingly known as “Bubba” or “Uncle Bubba”, to his family members, Mr. Howland was born on January 26, 1963 to the late Billy Howland, Jr. and the late Vicki Patch Katherman.

Surviving members of Bubba’s family are his daughters, Becca Fowler (Tony), Leah Howland; sons, David Howland (Tammy), Joshua Howland; sisters, Tanya Jordan, Jennifer Knight (Michael); brothers, Derek Hardy (Tara), Billy Howland; grandchildren, Michael, Ethan, Kerrigan, Asher, Trevor, Jacob, Olivia, Chloe, Eli, Violet; daughter-in-law, Merita Floyd; and step mother, Angelina Howland. In addition to his mother and father, Mr. Howland was predeceased by his step father, Allen Katherman. 

Mr. Howland was a proud veteran and patriot and loved his country, he loved his children and family, but even more, he loved being in ministry and sharing the Word of Jesus Christ. 

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Meadows Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Howland will have his final resting place with honors at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.
