OBITUARY

Hoyt "Ricky" Cryder, age 71 of Winder, passed away on August 14, 2026 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Ricky was born in Georgia on November 26, 1954 to the late Hoyt Cryder and the late Beatrice Coker. Mr. Cryder was preceded by his step-son, Tony McKenzie; several brothers and sisters.

Surviving members of his family are, his devoted wife of 44 years, Denise Cryder; daughter, Amy Conley (Curtis); god-children, Ashleigh Hughes (Ryan Gildemeyer), Wesley Hughes; brother, Michael Cryder; grandchildren, Keaton and Kason; step mother; Lynda Cryder; several nieces and nephews.

If you knew Ricky, you knew a few things for certain. He sure did love Nene, and Amy & Curtis. Family first, always. His hearing was terrible. He loved anything and everything NASCAR. He was happiest around a grill, with a house full of family. And if you could dream something up, there was a pretty good chance Ricky could figure out how to build it. Give him an idea, some tools and a little time, and somehow he'd make it happen. But the greatest thing Ricky built wasn't something you could ever hold in your hands. He built, and rebuilt, a life worth celebrating and a permanent place in our hearts that can never be replaced. Nene & Ricky's home was always open to any and all, at any given time. The kind of selflessness you aspire to put into the world.. he possessed. He was a genuine, hardworking, dedicated man who strived to help everyone around him; the true representation of a "give you the shirt off his back" type of man.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 18, 2026 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Meadows Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 19, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Meadows Funeral Home with Dr. Buster Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Warsaw Cemetery in Johns Creek, Georgia.
