She was also survived by a number of siblings, Rod Blomquist of Newark, De; Chrystyne Ayn of Venice Beach, FL; Gene Blomquist and wife Judi of Rising Sun, MD; Cheryl Hammond and her husband Pat of Hiram, ME; Cyndy Swyka and her husband Richard of Hartly, DE; Jeff Blomquist of Elkton, MD; Marnie Nathansom and her husband Phil of New Castle, DE; along with many nieces and nephews.
Sunny spent 20 years in the United States Air Force. She went to college in Las Vegas, Nevada after her military retirement and earned two Associate Degrees in Business Management and Business Accounting. After moving back to Delaware in 2001, Sunny worked in the landscaping and lawn maintenance in lower Delaware with her sister Cheryl. Later, she went to truck driving school at Del-Tech where she obtained her CDL to drive as a team with Les. The truck driving career did not fit with Sunny’s life after 9 months. She loved to travel, though and was able to see many places in the USA. In June, 2007 Sunny moved to Georgia to be closer to Les’ family. There, she took up cooking but did not fully trust her creations enough to taste them.
Sunny, along with her husband will have their ashes entombed at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, Delaware on Sunday September 27th at 2:00 PM.
