OBITUARY

Ray Olin Malcom, age 88 of Monroe, passed away on October 22, 2026. He was born on May 15, 1938 to the late George Virgil Malcom and the late Frances Hester Malcom.   He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Linda Ann Garner Malcom.

Olin grew up in Good Hope, GA on a farm.  He talked often about missing the first month of a school year to bring in the crops.  As a young man he left Walton County in search of a corporate life, but farming never left his life.  He spent every weekend and most vacations returning to the fields.  At 82 years old he was able to realize his life dream of returning to Good Hope and the job of driving his tractor.

Surviving are daughter, Kimberly York (Tim); son, Thomas Malcom (Rene), Bradley Malcom (Jennifer), Jason Malcom, and David Malcom (Erica); siblings, Lynn Malcom, Marie Peters (Ronal), Randy Malcom (Regina); 5 grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday October 24th from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Meadows Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday October 25th at 2:00 PM at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Storm officiating.  Interment will follow at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
